Glass & Sliding Door Dog Doors
Custom Dog Doors Built Into Glass & Sliding Doors
Permanent, factory-quality pet doors cut into tempered glass — no ugly panel inserts, no lost door function.
The cleanest way to give your dog access to the yard
A glass door dog door replaces the pane in your existing patio, sliding, or French door with a new tempered pane that has the pet door professionally built in. It looks intentional, seals like the original, and lasts as long as the door itself. This is the option Northern Colorado homeowners choose when they don't want to ruin an entry door, punch a hole in siding, or live with a bulky panel insert.

We measure your existing pane, order tempered safety glass fabricated with the pet-door cutout, and install it into your original frame. Best for permanence and looks.
Panel Insert
A tall aluminum panel with a built-in pet door slides into the sliding-door track — no glass work. Fast and renter-friendly, but reduces the opening width.
Frame-Mounted
For unusual doors or historic frames, we mount the pet door into the surrounding frame or sidelight rather than the moving pane. Great for French doors and fixed glass.
Sliding Glass Door with a Dog Door Built In
Have a sliding glass door? We can build the pet door directly into the fixed pane so you keep the full opening on the sliding side, or fit a factory panel insert into the track for a non-permanent option. Either way, your door locks, latches, and slides exactly like it did before.

French Doors With a Dog Door
French doors have narrower panes and often decorative grids. We install into a single leaf so the other side keeps its full function, and can match the pet-door trim to your interior color. See our dedicated French door dog doors page for more.

Materials & durability
Every in-glass job uses tempered safety glass — dual-pane where the original door is dual-pane — so you keep the insulation value of the pane we're replacing. The pet door itself is a professional-grade unit with a weather-stripped flap and a lockable slide-in security panel. There are several established manufacturers on the market (Hale, PlexiDor, Endura, Freedom Pet Pass and others are all names you'll run into); we'll recommend the model that fits your pet size, insulation priorities, and whether you want a manual flap or a Wi-Fi–controlled door.
Pricing
Most in-glass installs land between roughly $1,200 and $2,400 depending on door size, glass type (single vs. dual pane), and the pet door model you choose. We give a firm quote after a free in-home measurement — no surprise fees.

Can you put a dog door in a glass door?
Yes. We replace the existing pane with a new tempered pane that has the pet door pre-installed.
Can you put a dog door in glass?
Yes — tempered safety glass is fabricated with the cutout, so the finished install is permanent, weather-tight, and factory-quality.
Does it void the door warranty?
The new glass carries its own manufacturer warranty and we reuse your existing frame and hardware, so surrounding components stay intact.
How long does it take?
Measure and quote take about 30 minutes. Installation happens a couple of weeks later once your custom glass is fabricated and typically takes 1–2 hours.
